Bad person? No. Bad reviewer? Probably so.
by Sundown
Precious is running at 86% positive right now on Rotten Tomatoes, so the vast majority of critics (who tend to be jaded and dismissive of feel-good movies) saw something Dana missed.

Interesting. What's the threshold of critical agreement that makes the critics-in-agreement right and the other critics bad reviewers for disagreeing? 86% 75% 67% 50.001%? I was under the impression a critic was good or bad for the quality of insight and writing they brought to the task, not whether they liked the movie or not.

yeah, I think you guys are mis-using Rotten Tomatoes if you only go there to find out whether you should like a movie or not...

Take B.G. critic, Wesley Morris. Funny guy, very entertaining film critic, but he did not care for "Bruno" which I found to be very amusing. So what? btw, I think if you agree with your spouse on everythign, your children will be DNA cheated. Think about it...

No, I don't just use Rotten Tomatoes for the percentage scores, but it does give a quick take on whether there's a consensus. And given the rather oddball headline, it seemed appropriate to note that being a bad person for not liking the film might not be Dana's biggest concern. I often wonder if reviewers ever re-watch films to see if their opinion changed from their initial reviews. You'd think they'd wonder in cases where everybody likes a film except for them.
