Wait, reJoinder et al, to say that Obama is a centrist (by American standards) is pretty disingenuous. He's certainly just left of center-left at the very least and has, indeed, introduced some moderately stringent command economy controls...and desires to do so further.

It is a mathematical and logical impossibility that raising taxes on Corporations, small businesses (LLCs that make more than $250K), the wealthy, energy and capital gains will not increase unemployment rates and decrease economic growth. Therefore, Obama’s economic agenda is for other reasons, probably is to create racial/sexual/ethnic equality. Individual liberty, adherence to contracts, minimal Government and individual responsibility will be thrown out for those who need, from each according to his ability.

We have not even discussed that Keynesian economics always results in stagflation. Deficit spending, and exponentially inreasing astronomical debts is generational theft that will harm future Americans and humanity as a whole.

I said "long-term" for that reason, actually. Unregulated markets are admittedly volatile, and there actually are several reasons why banks specifically should be regulated that I won't get into, but in the main a) there's been a lot of economic growth over the past 30 years b) regulation beyond the banking sector will in the main do more harm than good. Obama/Waxman/Markey's desired energy policy is laughably ill-conceived, for example.

On the other point, The Presidential Approval Index was used to great effect during the last Presidency, and insofar as "right" and "left" are relativistic terms, it's fair to use a poll as a reference point.

Learn how to write and change your moniker to "Snores" and don't fret the numbers, sucker. When the President fires up his teleprompter and starts pounding the air waves you'll see your numbers slip in the other direction. Besides, Obama's accomplished more in the last 8 and a half months than the Republicans could dream of doing in 8 years.
