There are government employees...
by Freetrader2

In Washington D.C.? Some of them are doctors and EMTs? Who Knew??? Ah, the rich irony of finding out during a protest march in Washington, where pretty much everyone is on the taxpayer's payroll, that some of them are doctors who will actually perform their function and might save your life, if you happen to have a heart attack in Washington, DC, while they are looking in your direction. Take That, Facists Against Obamacare!

Actually, of course, Noah's observation is blindingly obvious and makes no 'point' at all, at least, not one that supports his very public agitation for a publicly-run healthcare system. If I were, say, a soldier at Fort Hood, on a military base, and I get shot by a lunatic (who also happens to be a government-employed doctor, but never mind) and another Army doctor saves my life, I don't see that as a win for a government run healthcare system -- it is only that, since I am on federal governmenet property, a federal government employee is going to have to save me, if I get saved at all.

The point is that govenrment health care and government health care workers saved the life of a person protesting govenrment health care.

It's not a hard point to get.

You gotta parse it pretty wide to get to where you are.

It's called irony, and like most wingnuts, this guy is devoid of any sense of it, thus requiring your explanation. But don't expect any thanks. These folks also lack any sense of appreciation.

OH, I get it NOW! So for instance if I benefit from taxes in some way, then I have NO right to protest any taxes that might be proposed? That would be deep irony and I'd be an idiot? Thanks for pointing that out.... not.

Who said anything about your right to protest?

did you read the prior posts?

No one said it was deep irony, and no one called anyone an idiot. Bur you would have to be pretty partisan or dense not to get *any* irony out of it at, no .....?

Yes, perhaps you can point out to me where the right to protest came up in those prior posts because I don't see it.

Sure, I see what you're talking about, but if he keeled over in a fee-for-service hospital do you REALLY think the doctors would just step over him and go on their way without treating them? No, of course not.

It probably is partisan though, for example, I think it's ironic that the press is constantly harping on the dangers of tobacco but doesn't call for Obama, the leader of our country, to quit smoking and set a good example.

Then what do you think is ironic? If it's not that he's exercising his right to protest something that's helping him, I don't know what it is. Is the article about tangerines and I just missed it?

Re: There are government employees...

You must be talking about a new right where observers have to take protests seriously.

Actually that happens a lot in big-city "Emergency", I mean Waiting Rooms.

true. With union nurses. Do you think when they are government-paid union nurses they will move faster?

I've visited both kids of hospital, and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Don't feed the troll. Obviously, he's a sad, older fella judging by his anachronistic use of the word 'not' at the end of a statement.
