Yes it is legal. The only thing that would stop a retailer from doing it isn't the law but voluntarily grouping adult toys with porn, which is the only thing legally restricted to adults. They don't have to do that (like liquor companies didn't have to restrict TV ads for decades) they are just being extra careful. Many vibes afterall are personal massagers (or novelty items)...that any child can buy LEGALLY speaking.

An age restriction on these things is probably a local law, rather than a federal one. I can't imagine a brick-and-mortar adult store is going to want anyone underage in the building, but there are endless 'personal massagers' in drugstores.

as it has been mentioned, those really are not enforceble laws because all you have to do is call it a novelty item instead of a toy- and almost all toys are actually already called novelty items. It's a stupid law meant to assuage stupid people, but it doesn't have much practical effect.

I went to a sex toy party a few years back. I was a little freaked out by the fact that every dildo and vibrator had a face on it. Seriously whacky looking little faces. I asked the lady selling the products wtf is up? and she said "Yeah, some southern states banned sex toys. And this company sells in all states and overseas. Because they have a face on it, in those areas it's called a 'doll', so the company can sell them legally, and they don't have to remanufacture or repackage the product just for those states"

I bought my first "personal massager" at a Walgreens as a teen...I remember being so embarrassed lol.
