A gentleman collapsed at the protest

The EMT's came in an ambulance to care for him and took him away to a local hospital. Did they ask to see proof of citizenship? No. Did they ask if he had insurance? Possibly. Would they have refused to treat him if he didn't have it? No. Did they decide not to treat him because obviously it would offend his principles to be treated by a government supported service? No.

Did the crowd stand between this gentleman (term used advisedly) and the evils of socialized medicine? No.

Will they chip in when he gets some enormous bill for his care? Don't be silly. He's supposed to pull himself up by his own bootstraps, get a second job, raid his children's college funds and if all else fails, put a jar on a convenience store counter.

If he's elderly, he already has government health care...and if he went to that protest, it was because he wanted to make damn sure that the old folks do not have to share it.
