Everything I know about military crime I learned by watching NCIS. It's on TV so it must be true.

At least in the Navy. Maybe the Army is different.

"moodyguppy", trust me on this one (though I do suspect you agree): the TV show N.C.I.S. is an unmitigated fantasy. Having been in the U.S. Navy, I can only roll my eyes whenever I watch the show. The only reason I watch this program at all is because my wife loves to view during dinner time the N.C.I.S. reruns shown on the USA Network.

if you believe everything u see on tv then u better be ready for vampires, werewolves and other creatures. my dad served in the army and retired and he isnt a thief, murderer or anything of the sort. u cant trust most things on tv as real even the news ie ballon hoax, snake hoax just to name a few most recent ones. my thought sleeper cell, and the thought of having to go "home" set off the trigger to do these things. although i feel that we shouldve nuked the middle east yrs ago and ended the war before it started i feel sorry for the families of the fallen.

as for the nonsense of the military is corrupt because a tv show said so GROW UP AND GET INTO THE REAL WORLD. i also served and saw nothing of the stupidity u claim everyone is. jackass

NCIS is unwatchable BS. As a retired Army CID Agent I can tell you, the typical case involves similar issues you find in civilian communities. Domestic violence, theft, sexual assaults, burglary, robbery etc... Because military bases are very controlled, solve rates tend to be higher, since you have a limited suspect pool. Not too many repeat offenders, as even petty criminals are discharged to become the problem of others.

Granted, the real NCIS also handles Intelligence issues, where in the Army, the CID mission deals with criminal issues almost exclusively.

You can bet every CID Agent on Ft Hood is working around the clock on this case.
