THE MESSIAH AND THE SWEEP

Perhaps if the Republicans had won only one election or even a slight majority, the acolytes could have spun Tuesday's results as local politics ousting Democrats who foolishly distanced themselves from the Messiah. The loss of New Jersey and the bredth of the electorate rejection of the Messiah's vision tells a different story.

The first chapter is complete.

The ending is to be determined. Exactly how sure of himself is the Messiah?

You might want to hold off that masturbation party for a few more minutes.

Or Maybe Not So Tightening

We've now got 76% of the vote in and Owens margin has increased a bit. Owens is now up by about 4,000.

How fucked up does republican ideology have to become to piss away a district that has not had a Democratic representative since fucking 1850.
Owens wins.

Owens has been projected the winner, after the great right-wing nut-sack meltdown of 2009.

But Republicans did win in New Jersey and Virginia, so the gloating will accelerate.

Republicans will become even more insufferable than they have been in the past as they run Sarah for President in 2012.

The lesson of the night should be that competence wins over incompetence and negativity (New Jersey and Virginia) and that extremism loses (New York Congressional). As you can see from the posts here that lesson will not be learned by a Republican party that has made hate and volume a cornerstone of its policies since the days of Lee Atwater. They will not stop now. In fact Republicans, lead by Rush Limbaugh, will amplify the boasting and increase the hate levels as they ponder the possibility of inaugurating President Sarah Palin in January 2013.

What was the lesson for the Messiah?

To whom are you referring?

I don't believe Jesus follows politics. If he did, he'd probably take away that more preople voted for the winners, and less people voted for the losers.

Exactly how sure of himself is the Messiah?

Well, he rose from the dead. That would make anyone sure of himself.

I don't believe Jesus follows politics.

Odd. The last time I watched The 700 Club I received the distinct impression that not only did Jesus follow politics, he was a registered Republican.
