The thing about our system of justice is that the truth often means less than the people involved. It's easy to hate lawyers like this, but on the other hand, you have to wonder about the people who sit on the juries and hand this guy his 80% success rate. Juries are made up of people just like you and me, and ultimately we are the arbiters of justice.

Of course, if the lawyers present a flawed case, there's not much hope for justice to be achieved on any level.

Well guess what? This country is supposed to operate under the rule of law. The law does not provide life imprisonment or capital punishment for a 13-year old for robbery.
