There is nothing to say

Regardless of what Obama says, this plays into the GOP playbook where any sort of attack will be laid at the feet of an "appeaser." Given Obama's limp response to everything that has crossed his desk, I'm inclined to see him as another Carter. Sadly, the next President is likely to be another empire builder. ("We must fight them there or they'll fight us here.")
Too early to tell

It will depend on why and whom the responsible parties are. I'm by no means an Obama fan, but, let's wait until the facts and parties responsible come to light.

Obama fan or not, odds are fox news has already run something along the lines of "Would more waterboarding have prevented this?"
Re: There is nothing to say

but then you go on to say what? That Obama did not respond forcefully to the pirates? Hmm. Let me see. We have 3 dead Somalis and one in custody. What did the oh, so decisive Bush manage to do? Nuttin.

We now have about 60,000 troops in Afghanistan, after Obama committed an increase of 20,000. The request for 40,000 more is under consideration and you think that is limp?

You were right. You had nothing at all to say.

Yes, Obama is a limp wristed butt pirate.

He's considering 40,000 troops?

Oh he's considering, but he's not considering anywhere near that amount.

On domestic policy he is determined to be black Robin Hood, on foreign policy he is clearly not a big spender.

Nice to know that you read minds.

Did you ever complain about the lack of troops that Bush committed to the front line of the war on terror (Afghanistan...not Iraq).

Did you, even once, express support for the commanders on the ground who asked Bush/Rumsfeld for more troops? Did you ever express outrage at the limp wristed response when those requests were ignored?

It would be nice if you were more involved in actual evaluation of the situation instead of looking for a reason to bitch because you don't like Obama.

What the hell does this have to do with Ft. Hood?
by evensteven1

The origanl post was regarding the tragedy at Ft. Hood. You two morons are going on about something completely separate.

Now if it's pertaining to Hasan's imminent deployment to Iraq, that's one thing.

But, as I said before, it's still way too early in the situation to speculate on his motives.

You think I'm the moron but you're the one who thinks this comment has something to say about Ft Hood.

Given Obama's limp response to everything that has crossed his desk,

That doesn't compute. Aren't we still "fighting them there"? As long as we're "fighting them there", doesn't any attack "here" work against the "We must fight them there or they'll fight us here" argument?
Re: There is nothing to say

Major Hasan was a U.S. citizen born here from Jordanian parents.

I also stress that he was a Major in the army for how many years???

Like I said, it's way to early to rush to judgements before we have all the facts.

First, it was three gunmen. Next it was one gunman dead, two arrested. Then it was two released and the gunman was dead. Now the gunman is not dead and in the hospital.

That may be the problem with our press and our society these days. We want answers so fast, that we don't want to take the time to get INTELLIGENT answers to the questions in the first place.

So back off, and let the investigators do thier jobs!

Re: There is nothing to say

Hasan was born in America, but that only means he is a citizen by birth, he has loyalty to the land of his father, his American citizenship meant nothing to him, it is his fathers heritage that rules him.The lands of islam is where his heart lies. No good muslim can ever be a loyal American .

Unless islam overtakes all the other cultures of America, there will always be no place for a good muslim.

Only a second or third generation muslim can truly be an American, and that would mean he is no longer a follower of the pedophile mohamhead.

Look at cassius clay, he was able to dodge serving in the military by claiming islam as his new religion, even then everyone knew muslims do not fight for America.

Islam is not compatible with any culture but its own, and is a very dangerous presence everywhere it is allowed to fester.

Common sense dictates that all freedom loving Nations abolish the death cult called islam .

We now have a Commander in Chief whose father was a foreigner muslim,

Benjamin Franklin inserted the " Natural Born American " stipulation to ensure that only Americans born to Americans can become the Commander in Chief, look at poor Obama he is totally lost trying to conduct his job, but actually he is not lost, he is intentionally trying to change America as we know it , and as his sermon from the koran in Cairo showed he is a muslim.

America beware of Obama .

Hey, don't be a total dumbass. I, for one, do hope Obama changes America as we know it.

As to your point about no Muslim ever being a loyal American until a few generations in, it's worth discussion. I would say Muslims have actually assimilated better in countries like the U.S. and Canada than in Europe because we have less built-in xenophobia. Islam has never undergone an Enlightenment period, as Christianity has. Yet many Muslims, when they encounter Western freedoms, seem to take to them well. Eventually, they are able to "compartmentalize" (for lack of a better term) their faith. They realize the political entity which allows them freedom to live and prosper as they see fit is a valuable, separate thing from their religious teachings--two different worlds that should be different. If the more virulent strains of Islam had not gained dominance in the modern era (thanks in a small degree to some very short-sighted policies on our part), this mental shift would probably be easier for them to make. As it is taught, however, Islam is also inextricably linked to a political ideology, ideas of "Dar-al-Islam" mixed with world dominance, and that is precisely the part of Islam free nations should fear and be on guard against.

Unfortunately, too many of us see Islam as if it were akin to modern Christianity--a faith to be practiced freely in private. For some, it is, and this is how it should be, but for many it is a way of life at odds with modern and Western concepts of freedom and human dignity. And because it is so, this makes them, unfortunately, enemies to our way of life.

Hellzapoppin

You are a gentleman a scholar and a good judge of horse flesh, thank you for your civility .

I also would like to see things change, to be like a Gene Roddenberry Star Trek society, a world without money, and a prime directive, which our own Constitution would suffice, because it is an inspired work .

I have reason to not trust a single thing that comes from Obama's mouth, his lies are numerous -he lied about Rev. Wright, he preaches from the koran and claims to be Christian, he says he didn't bow to the saudi king, he appoints income tax cheats, and many more dispicable lies about GWB, on and on he deceives, acorn, ayres, etc.etc.

I believe that a fully disclosed plan to fundamentally change our society, must be done in an open public forum that would involve making it an obvious and easy to accept proposition, developed over the next 50 years, a blueprint with a beginning , middle and end.

Obama is not the man to start any of this, his friends are bitter haters of the American experience unable to think clearly.

I look forward to hearing some more of your thoughts .

You say a lot and yet say nothing
by middleview

1. Obama lied about Wright? Got a link to prove that?

2. Quoting from the Quran is not the same as preaching from it. It is useful to show Muslims that there are teachings in their book which forbid the kind of murder and hatred that Bin Laden has been spreading.

3. What "despicable lies" has Obama spread about Bush?

Re: You say a lot and yet say nothing

Video tapes of the Rev.'s rantings were on sale in the lobby for years,

If you believe obama wasn't aware then you are too gullible to talk with, but actually you are just being a lump, obviously you are a jerk.

The koran is a work of a sick bunch of misogynists, for obama to say he was glad to be in the land where the koran was REVEALED clearly shows obama's belief of islam . What did the magiical ride on the beast called Barak have to do with forbiding terrorism, the begining of the koran is a copy of the Jewish testaments, designed to create an air of legitimacy, then it says to ignore the peaceful part and says that terrorism is a legitimate way to spread islam.

Obama constantly criticised Bush for the last two years of his term, along with all the other liars who said Bush lied us into an illegal war, it was not an illegal war, Bush found nuclear weapons in Libya, by scaring kadaffy duck, found 500 metric tons of yellowcake, obama denied the truth that Iraq was a necessary war, obama painted Bush as an ignorant man, ignoring that russia, germany, france and china were illegally supplying Saddam with $60 billion, instead of food for oil during the clinton years, causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children, women, and men. saddam was intent on bluffing his way to dominating his neighbors, and paying suicide murderers to attack Israel. Kadaffy's nukes would have been a hell of a surprise gift to Saddam if Bush hadn't killed Saddam, for obama to say that Bush was wrong was a lie, obama was just thinking of his own way to gain prominence, spreading a lie that Bush was making unreasonable decisions was not an honest assessment, to say Bush's decisions were so wrong was an opinion not a fact .Saddam was the most dangerous muslim in power at the time . Bin Laden turned out to just be a punk hiding under a rock, the same as Saddam, islam is the enemy not just a war in afghanistan, this is a world wide war obama needs to accept this truth and stop representing islam as one of the worlds great religions, he needs to stop lying that islam is worthy of respect and take off his skirt and dominate the way Bush did .
