Look at your average teen. They've all adopted the hipster look from the tight jeans to the bangs to the leggings and now the flannels. PBR sales have had their highest growth over the last 2 years after being hipster staples for the previous ten. Urban Outfitters continues its ridiculous sales growth. The stock increased 25 fold between 2000 and 2006. I see it's up again for the past year.

Like it or not, hipsterism is the default style of cool right now. I suppose it makes sense. Hipsters spent the late 90s and 00s living the broke lifestyle of cheap beer, dirty bars, and resale clothes while the mainstream was bling this and Hilton that. Now that the economy is in the crapper, it's the only style that everyone can do.
