Bad for Obama--No Health Ins reform or Cap and Tax
by gmajesko
+1/-2 Reply

Obama had hoped to control 1/6 of the economy by now via gov controlled HI, but he knows it will not pass this year and next year being an election year for Congress, it is dead. Cap and Tax was a joke to begin with since it essentially sends jobs to India and China who will continue to ignore the environment. In China, if the town is poluted, they simply move the people, but Obama is so ignorant of reality that he still thinks Russia will support sanctions for Iran and Iran will comply with the UN.

In other predictive news---Hillary will resign sometime early in 2010 as she gets no face time on TV and shoots off her mouth like she has some influence. Hillary hopes Obama continues to screw things up so he will like LBJ did, refuse to run for a second term.

Americans know they made a hugh mistake in Nov 08, but we will have to grin and bear it. Thank god for Joe the buffoon Biden who keeps us laughing while Obama gets redundant on his daily TV show.

Unemployment will go over 10%, the stock market will go nowhere, housing sales will go nowhere, consumers will spend whatever the gov hands out this Dec and it will be a buyers market. No inflation thank god, no interest, and a flat 2010 ahead.

Maybe Obama will shut up and stop annoying us on TV.

And yet the public trusts Obama much more than the GOP.

Weird, ain't it, gmajesko?

Actually, UHC will pass and the Republicans will once again be caught with their pants down. The public distrusts the Republicans more now than they have in over two decades, and the only ones that are to blame for this are the embarrassing Republicans themselves. They have no ideas. They have no national leaders who aren't a laughingstock. And the face/voice of this pathetic excuse for a national party is none other than El Drugbo; an amoral ex-junkie Twinkie freak.

And to top that all off, the teabagger scum who run the GOP have been relegated to holding garage and bake sales in order to fund their candidates of choice. The joke is simply getting old.

Aren't these the same guys who predicted Obama would never win in the first place because "America is waking up to his radical associations like Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers...and his lack of experience" back last Fall?

Actually, I'm pretty sure gmajesko predicted a McCain/Palin landslide of at least ten points due to the Bradley effect. He may have also predicted the Dow dropping below 2000.
Ah, yes, another talking point
by reJoinder

Bailing out a collapsing economy means that 'Socialist Obama wants to control 1/whateverth of the economy...' Very popular with the wingnut set, that claim.

Complete bullshit, as is the rest of your 'whistling past the election' post, but I'm sure it made you feel better. Like taking a big shit, you might say...

I think the 1/6th is a reference to the size of healthcare in this country. The claim conveniently ignores:

1) The gov't already runs a huge chunk of this via medicare, medicaid, VA...

2) The parts we don't run are already regulated, and the proposals are predominantly regulatory changes.

Healthcare partly
by reJoinder

..also the "auto industry sector," which righties have been claiming that Obama now "controls."

Agree with you about healthcare, of course.

Well, then maybe he's a perfect REVERSE barometer????

LOL

Damn, and we could have had the republican health care plan:

Republican Health Insurance Reform Bill Insures Almost Nobody Brian Beutler | November 5, 2009, 9:05AM

Earlier this week, a spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner made a prediction. The Republican health care plan, he said, "will cover millions more Americans" than the Democrats' plan. Bold. But here's what the experts say:

By 2019, CBO and JCT estimate, the number of nonelderly people without health insurance would be reduced by about 3 million relative to current law, leaving about 52 million nonelderly residents uninsured. The share of legal nonelderly residents with insurance coverage in 2019 would be about 83 percent, roughly in line with the current share.

Actually it gets much worse the more you read:

Using their logic the government runs 100% of the legal economy since there is some type of tax or regulation associated with every part of the legal economy. Thus the only ones with freedom are drug dealers and pimps!

I guess the GOP wishes to have drug dealers and pimps run the US economy.

Note that I believe that in some parts of the system there are too many regulations and too many 'fees' and taxes (e.g. here in CA the sales taxes is now 8.75 in my country and over 10% in other parts of the state), but these BS fear monger rants are a joke.

Government control heathcare will pass and will be successful until the new car smell wears off. It will start to smell rotten when all the people find out that the government is going to dictate what your heath value is……..? Then wonder who the hell do we call for support…? 911? Oh the Mexicans will come in like ants. Not enough Doctors that want to be paid minimum wage.

So all you thinkers that love the government control freaks Read the dam BILL.

I'm NOT for the Dem's healthcare reform at all. I'm for the Swiss type of system where there all the insurers are private NON profit insurers. This has less government control but takes the profit out of healthcare which I feel is necessary.

So are you also against Medicare, Social Security, unemployment insurance, FDIC, SEC, and many other socialist government programs? I just ask because the vast majority of Americans are for these programs and the GOP has been for them for decades. The proof of this is that when the GOP had the power they didn't try to end any of these programs. In fact they increased government control. Were you sleeping during the GOP admin?

So the mature debate here is what areas should the government regulate. I say we get rid of Social Security, Medicare and unemployment insurance but have NON profit private health insurance. The end result will be less government control.

Re: Control Freak

No way in hell are we going to "get rid" of Social Security, Medicare and Unemployment benefits. That is the entire safety network for the poor and elderly. I would rather put in a 95% Inheritance tax of everything over 10 million or so.
Trust?,,,,Obama strongly approve- strongly disaprove is -13
by gmajesko

When they poll the morons who walk the street, Obama has an approval rating of 48% to 52% in seven polls. Most of these people polled do not know that Obama has not delivered bumkis on any of his promises, but they think he and Michell are a cute couple.

When they ask people who follow the issues he has a minus 13 rating on the same 7 polls. Those who follow the issues can say we strongly approve or disapprove, so we must rate this as the defining factor in Obama's performance---not that he is cute and talks real nice on TV.

Repubs ideas include tort reform, free market for selling HI accross the USA, and getting rid of corruption in Medicare---none of which require gov takeovers. GOP also do not like setting records on body bags from Afgan arriving in DE, while Obama refuses to support our military there.

Dems are not fooling indendents any longer as the elections show. GOP has got to grow a pair and run a real conservative in 2012 and get rid of the eunuchs. We already got rid of Spector.

Dems are all eunuchs, the men and women wear panties, and are ready to surrender if and when al queda attacks again.

Hey, thinker

NO ONE is proposing "government control [sic] healthcare." NO one. Try again.
