This article is so dumb, its astonishing!

This sort of thing occurred in Vietnam as well, and in Iran where even high level US company employees, just to keep a job, did not express their true feelings about the Shah until the US was on its way out! I recall that there is even a clip on this "phenomenon" in a movie about Ross Perot in Iran where a top aide in Perot's company hates the Shah and the US.

What the attack by an Afgani policeman shows is that ordinary, mainstream, working people in Afghanistan are willing to risk everything to hit us, either that or they are just flat out insane angry on a scale this great.

Frankly, this article is just another neocon wank.

Robbers in uniform

The murderous attack on 5 British soldiers by an Afghan police officer they were mentoring destroys one of the main supports for us being in Afghanistan. After all the attack was carried out by the very people that we are supposed to be training to take over.

When you combine this, and previous attacks of the same nature, with the latest fiasco concering the Afghan elections and then you have to seriously question what we are hoping to achieve in Afghanistan.

If the Afghan president and the police force are seen by the majority of Afghans to be just as much part of the problem as the taliban are then we're probably screwed.

Dead on SB. Scott Ritter said it, Get the F... out, asap!
"...then we're probably screwed."

I suspect that President Obama realizes that. The problem is that the American public has been so conditioned to accept killing people and blowing things up as the way to solve problem, that it would be political suicide to rationally act on that realization.

Long live the Empire!

You have to realize that all our films end with a shootout in which the good guys (us) never get hit and the bad guys (them) always get hit then there is a spectacular explosion. Then there are all those who believe we would be so much safer if everybody had a gun it is hardly surprising Americans think we can solve everything by using a gun.

Seriously, a huge statue of Bill Clinton, instead of Stalin, now rises in Kosovo!

That alone probably turned off at least a billion people the world over to the USA, including in Afghanistan!

Having a statue like that on foreign soil, imposing our elite on people who have been around for thousands of years, its an abomination and It is so unAmerican it makes me need to puke!

When that neocon slime ball Podhersky claimed the Iraqis would mount a statue of Bush, I had no idea he was dead serious, the zealtot!

How do you know they are turned off?
by Bottomfish
The statue was not put up by the US. The Kosovars like the statue just fine and consider Clinton a hero, as shown in the story here:

Who is this billion who are turned off? Kosovo has a Muslim majority.
