Restrooms & handwashing
by winstonsmiththe3rd
Anyone who works in a facility with public-accessed lavatories such as a mall, school, library or restaurant can verify the hand washing study. The signs reminding people to wash up indicate that either A. many people never learned basic hygiene, or B. many people can't read, or C. don't care. As for the quip about Senator Craig and the restroom incident, his attorney will argue Craig was just helping with the survey.

Maybe the ones you have observed were taught not to pee on their hands while using the restroom.

As a man who's mindful about washing my hands every time I use the restroom I can testify at the huge number of men I've seen leaving the bathroom without even bothering to look at the bathroom sink.

I've seen this happen for a very long, long time. What's interesting about it is the attitude they have, albeit it's only my impression. They walk by the sinks with this look in their faces as if saying "Washing hands is for sissies".

There are times when someone is walking by me as I'm washing my hands and I'll see their eyes shift from the sink to me and back as if perpexpled as to why I'm doing it. It's a look of disdain and sometimes ridicule.

Perhaps it's some sort of therapy they practice so as to teach themselves not to worry about the small things. There's nothing that turns a woman off more than a man obsessed about themselves. Maybe they're just making sure they don't come across that way.

Philistine, sometimes small things can kill you. Small things like bacteria and viruses (think E Coli, Norovirus, Hepatitis and Typhoid). I think most women know it isn't obsession if a man washes his hands after using the toilet. The attitude in men you describe reflects the kind of selfishness (or stupidity) is not what most women seek.

And apparently their penises are too small to require pulling out of the pants.

THe survey says "one in every three". In the office I work in one in four men washes his hands after using the toilet. The non-washers are all very short men, while the washer is tall. If proportionality is an indication, maybe you're right.
