Laughing at the Dems

Come on, people, your objections simply aren't credible. If the Dems had won NJ and VA, you would all be crowing about how the Democrats and Obama just got a clear mandate and approval to move ahead with their agenda.

I agree with you that there would be many dumbass Dems that would make the claim you state if NJ and VA had gone to the Dems. So why are so many Cons claiming that the nation is now sick of Obama because NJ and VA went to the GOP?

Isn't either stand childish?

Had that been the case, it would have.

Neither Democratic gubanatorial candidate was expected to win. Therefore had they won, their victories would have come as big surprises.

The GOP can't spin hard enough in its desire to avoid having anyone notice the fact that the "tea baggers" have just cost them a House seat.

The "tea baggers" are crowing. They've already announced thier next victim.

Florida governor (and Senate candidate) Charlie Crist.

Yeah, I wouldn't go so far as to say that the whole country is ready to toss out Obama. But it does mean something. My takeaway would be that (1) Obama's got no coattails and no mandate--not right now, anyhow, and (2) Conservatives can win in this climate if they stick to economic populism (as opposed to religious/social conservative issues).

But the wing nuts cant stand to keep quiet, they have to throw in God and Abortion and Evolution into the mix. Oh, and homophobia and racism.
we agree on that

Really if the GOP runs candidates that can stick to a fiscal restraint type of agenda and NOT overplay religious/social issues they will make major progress unless the economy makes big gains before then (and sadly I don't see that happening).

Good observation.

What happen at the polls in 2010 will probably be directly related to the economic picture next Fall. If that picture is bleak, then so are Democratic hopes of retaining control of Congress. Though even a modest improvement in the economy might be beneficial to Democratic aspirations.

Far too early at present to accurately predict what will happen next year, but it is likely tthat the economy will be at least one of the primary campaign issues.
