Don't get stupid again dems
by oldentimes

I'm reading the same responses I did years ago by libs and dems thinking the tide wasn't turning and the next thing we all knew, republicans had the WH for most of the past 40 years. So I hope you all don't look at this and figure it was a fluke or something because if you do, you'll lose Congress in '10 and the WH right after that.

Seniors turned against the dems in NJ and VA and someone needs to analyze that and figure out how to address it. If it has anything to do with medicare cuts, it could be a big problem.

So Repubs won because they were promising to protect "Government-run health care" from cuts?

If the tide turns next year, oldentimes, you'll definitely have a point. This election does not mean much; or maybe should I say, it means a lot of things, to various states. California's had a couple Republican governors in recent memory. Does that mean California is conservative?

Uh, perhaps you missed it, but seniors voted in overwhelming numbers for Mccain last year. The over 65 crowd was in fact that one demographic that he did win. So its really not that much of a surprise that in an off year election where old folks are more likely to vote than young folks and minorities that the GOP would do better than in a year with a Presidential election.

Anyone who thinks they see some deeper meaning in yesterday's election is delusional. Especially since a year is a long time and the political climate will be very different. GDP is growing, wall street is recovering, and if the job market begins to improve as is expected this winter than 2010 is going to be a whole new ball game.

Good points except with this health care stuff, Obama expected better numbers from seniors and he didn't get them. He SPENT time in NJ and VA. Don't think this doesn't have national implications. This is how this crap started years ago.

And if you're too young to remember that well OK. And this economy is alreay a bubble again. They've done exactly the same things that got us into this mess in the first place. Volker knows it.
