impatience
by dbguy

I think the only message here is that voters are impatient and/or uninformed. We had 8 years of Bush and republican policies (some argue that Bush wasn't really republican or conservative as he increased the deficit but I kinda think that's a copout) and during that administration, the economy fell into the toilet. So voters voted for a change, but changeguy came in and it turns out he can't just wave a magic wand and fix an economy that took eight years to destroy, so now they want a change again. No big deal.

It's not impatience...at least on my part. I just don't want what he is selling. This is in no way an edorsement of the previous admin...and I would prefer we shut down the press towards creating more entitlement, bigger government, and less freedom.....and just simply work on the deficit. I don't agree with his socialized policies either....what the government can give, it can take away. That just makes me uncomfortable....subservience breeds dependence, and that leads to a loss of the people's power over our government. We will all become wards of the state....don't want that, no matter how much money it saves me.

I think his "socialized policies" are a paranoid fantasy in your head.

It's not by any means a fantasy to imagine that, if Obama had his druthers, there would be a lot more government intervention into the healthcare, financial, and energy sectors as well as more protectionism, pro-union policies, and higher capital gains taxes--all developments that I wouldn't welcome. I think this more so now than I did during the election last year.

I abstained from voting, mostly because the GOP put forth two truly terrible candidates, but had I to do it over again, I think I'd begrudgingly vote for McCain and pray to the gods every day that he doesn't get a stroke.

To say that someone is "uninformed" because he happens to vote differently from you is, quite frankly, pretty insulting.

Its not meant to be insulting, but as far as I am aware, Christie is very much a Bushie, and to the extent voters want to reject Corzine and Obama, and bring in Christie, as someone will improve the disastrous situation we currently find ourselves in, they are uninformed as to Christies intentions and the historical effect of the policies that Christie appears to champion.

Perhaps uninformed is not as good a choice as short of memory or short of attention span.

Federal intervention inot our private lives via the current healthcare initiatives being pushed through Congress and favored by Obama are considered "socialized policies"....my paranoid fantasy is apparently your wet dream.
