Obama declares V “not a parody of my presidency”

And I agree with our president. Even though hearing the space alien in last night’ V” series opener declare that they were bringing “universal health care” was indeed jarring.

For people who didn’t watch “V” – here’s my one sentence synopsis: Lizards impersonating humans arrive in giant spacecraft and promise to fix everything that’s wrong with our planet.

Here are my top reasons why I agree with Obama that “V” is NOT a thinly veiled parody of his presidency

10 – The guys in “V” are legitimate aliens. Obama has been falsely accused of being an alien, and not having a proper birth certificate.

9 – The leader of the aliens in V is a short haired (black), suit wearing woman. Obama is short dark haired, suit wearing metrosexual male.

8 – The aliens promise to provide affordable universal health care through their advanced technology. Obama has no advanced technology – just a background as a community organizer and half term senator.

7 – The aliens refuse to be interviewed on TV unless the sycophantic reporters agree not to ask embarrassing questions. Obama takes the opposite tack, and urges everyone to shun networks which don’t support him.

6 – The FBI becomes suspicious of the V aliens, and the aliens attack them. Obama attacked the CIA, not the FBI in real life.

5 – Renegade aliens who disagree with the “conquer and eat humans” policy are targeted for assassination. Centrist democrats who don’t toe the party line are simply targeted for anti semitic slurs.

4 – The aliens recruit impressionable youth to spread the word about their good intentions. Well . . . in this case there’s no difference between the aliens and Obama I guess. I’m leaving it in, though

3 – The catholic priests in “V” regard the aliens as a possible sign from god. In real life, Obama is regarded as a demigod by secular voters, not our clergy

2 – “V” graffiti, tagging, and posters go up everywhere in the TV show. In real life Obama tagging and posters were restricted to strongholds of his supporters

1 – The space aliens are actually lizards with a human skin grown over their scales. Obama is not a lizard

So I’ve made my case – 9 out of 10 plot devices refute the premise that “V” is a parody of Obama.

However, I reserve the right to reverse my opinion if Obama is caught eating a hamster.
