The Democrats need to strip him of any chairmanship he has and put him out in the cold. Even at the cost of his caucusing with them. If they don't, he'll keep doing this shit again and again because he knows he can get away with it.

Actually, though, that's one of the reasons I continue to be a registered Democrat.

that's what politics IS. He has power, he gets to dictate a bit of what happens. The pols know that, even if you don't.

I'm not saying they should campaign against him, like the Republicans did against Dede Scezzerfazzerzoomie or whatever her name is. I'm just saying they can't allow him to shoot down all their legislation then give him a committee chair.

Joe Lieberman could likely announce he was going to run for re-election as a Republican and Harry Reid would still not have the testicular fortitude to permit stripping him of his chair.

Perhaps it's time to trade in Harry Reid for a new Democrat? I think the party could use a few more Alan Grayson's myself.
