Faux News: A terrible night for the Democrats!
by Commander Guy

Karl Rove especially seems close to masturbating....

No talk of the Dems INCREASING their MASSIVE majority in the House though...

;-)

The Republicans picked up two state positions that they have had before off and on.

The Democrats picked up a federal position they hadn't had in 100 years while defeating a third party candidate who had taken down the Republican.

Who should be celebrating???

Methinks it isn't FoxNews.

I wish it were only Faux News. We expect such outright GOP hackery from them.

But the supposedly "liberal" CNN is not much better. As you say, the night is, at best, a wash for the two parties, but CNN is also depicting things as if we're seeing the deathknell of the Dem partry.

It's quite absurd.

LT, you obviously fail to recognize the significance of "off and on", as you so tell it.

CNN isn't liberal. No station that was "liberal" would have Lou Dobbs and Beck on it longer than it had D.L. Hughley. They try and have both sides on.

MSNBC is liberal.

Again, let's look at what the voters said...

Interviews with voters leaving polling stations in both states were filled with reasons for Democrats to be concerned and for Republicans to be optimistic, particularly about independents — the crown jewel of elections because they often determine outcomes.

Independents were a critical part Obama's victory in Virginia, New Jersey and across the country. But after more than a year of recession, they fled from Democrats in the two states, where the economy trumped all.

The Associated Press exit polls showed that nearly a third of voters in Virginia described themselves as independents, and nearly as many in New Jersey did. They preferred McDonnell by almost a 2-1 margin over Deeds in Virginia, and Christie over Corzine by a similar margin...

More than four in 10 voters in Virginia said their view of Obama factored into their choice on Tuesday...

Yahoo news

NOT favorable for Dems and Obama

My point is, the Dem victory in NY-23 is changing something that went on for 100 years.

VA always tends to have a governor of the opposite party from the president.

NJ had a bad Democratic governor and the Dems didn't switch candidates.

Independents didn't vote against the Dem. candidate because of the economy.

They voted against Corzine because he is untrustworthy.

They voted against Deeds because he stupidly went negative.

Had the Democrats put up better candidates, they would have won.
