Big day for liberals and their Nobel Peace Prize winning messiah:

updated 5:04 p.m. ET Nov. 3, 2009

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama's political clout was on the line Tuesday as Virginia and New Jersey chose governors in contests that could serve as warning signs for Democrats about the public's mood heading into an important midterm election year.

Have a good posting day.

I dunno, RIP. Despite Obama's (many) shortcomings, the public doesn't seem any more tolerant of right wing nutballs.

As the GOP moves closer to feces-flinging lunacy, you might wanna consider some warning signs of your own.

I understand that liberals and socialist may not have the same understanding as reasonable conservatives do regarding the inherit freedoms that go along with our democratic, and free enterprise capitalistic, system and our historical cultural norms; however, while the country’s Nobel Peace Prize winning President continues to try to slam his brand of socialism down everyone’s throat let’s let our citizens be heard and cast their votes, make their collective decisions and send whatever message they choose.

Remember, Obama has worked hard to carry the day in Virginia and New Jersey; he's done his part. Now, at the end of the day the ballots should be a fairly good litmus test for where the people believe the country should go and what they may think of Obama.

"reasonable conservative"? I've been a little worried that that species may've gone extinct. And for what it's worth, the NJ race may represent some sort of a litmus test. But...the VA race, probably not so much so. Virginia has sort of a unique thing going on with their governors, that doesn't hint much at national tea leaves.

55% of voters in Virginia said that he had no impact on their vote, 24% said they were sending a message of no support for Obama and only 18% said they were sending a message of support.

I understand liberals may have thought that they had swept them under the rug of extension a few short months ago, but Wow.....they're back (or never really went away)!

So basically you concede Virginia, even after Obama’s strong efforts to influence the voters of that state, while you are holding out hope for New Jersey? New Jersey will be interesting.

RIP....this is what my research tells me (although I could
by spreadsheet

be wrong):

Virginia has had 8 Governors going back to Dalton in '78. 5 have been Democrats and 3 have been Republican. Not a lot of news there...except that that's a lot of Governors in just a 31 year span. But...there's that single term thing.

Anyway...the interesting thing is that whenever the president has been a Republican, Virginians have elected a Democratic Governor. And..whenever the President's been a Democrat, they've elected a Republican.

That oughta tell us something...although I can't opine as to what except maybe in terms of a "grass is greener" kinda thing. And...yeah, I knew there was at least one reasonable conservative left, because I'm one!

Why do you always dither, using words like could instead of definetive words?

would not read too much into that Rippy...low voter turn out for people between the ages of 21 to 30 and low turn out from Black community...those groups had a big part in electing Obama!
