Great article. I wonder if the "leading pedestrian interval," would be a better solution than Cleveland's beeping and honking RTA buses - soon to be upgrade to "talking buses." I wonder if they will say to pedestrians “You'd better get the heck out of our way – we’re bigger and we don’t know how to drive!” A bias toward pedestrians not only acknowledges the huge weight/speed discrepancies between cars/buses and pedestrians, but it seems to create a far more people friendly environment.
