Clinton gave Bush an economy with building bubbles and one that had collapsed.

Bush had most of the bubbles end up bursting under him because he didn't deal with them properly.

Obama got stuck with the mess Bush made after the b.s. Clinton did.

I wouldn't want to be Obama, but he is doing a good job of cleaning it all up.

It forces agreement with Clinton or Bush. It forces a false choice. NEITHER of those two were right on the economy. Both of them screwed up.

I wouldn't want either. Both were screwed up. Both were a mess for whoever came afterward.

Bush's were more obvious and a little harder to blame on the person coming afterward.

Clinton's were less obvious and more likely to leave the one coming after him with blame, but perhaps easier to solve.

Neither was good.
