Making the Enemies List, Checking It Twice
by Urquhart

I need your help keeping track of the Administration's rather scattershot jihad. Messy out there. So chime in if I've forgotten anyone the White House (most powerful office in the world!) has chosen to call out. Thus far, they're speaking Truth to the Power of:

  • Rush Limbaugh
  • Jim Cramer
  • That Santelli guy
  • Fox News (all of em!)
  • The Congressional Budget Office
  • The Congressional Research Service
  • The Chamber of Commerce
  • The Associated Press
  • Edmunds.com (the car people)
  • Doctors
  • Police
  • Nazis
  • Old people
  • Natty people
  • Slovenly people
  • Sarah Palin's Facebook page (no, really, the DNC plans to mount an assault on a Facebook page)
  • Honduranians
  • The Central Intelligence Agency
  • People in possession of "mean signs"
  • Israel
  • Gordon Brown
  • Her Majesty the Queen
  • Poles
  • Bohemians; and
  • Myrtle Kravitz of St Paul, MN
Are there others?
Fat people are
by Gatewood

currently targeted for being fat by this administration and its president and are going to be penalized on government mandated insurance premiums by law. Or was that what you meant by Slovenly people?

Anyone not willing to voluntarily purchase medical insurance will be penalized. I suppose we could call them freedom lovers.

Young, Irresponsible People
by Urquhart

The official "calling em out" enemies list was not designed to be a compreensive list of everyone the Administration's policies would directly harm. If so, we'd just say "everybody but the SEIU" and call it a day.

It's a list of people the WH has directly called out as an enemy of the state, decency, progress and snuggly bunnies. Which is why I struggled with putting Whole Foods between Edmunds.com and Doctors. Can't remember if there was a specific statement from Dilbert Gibbs against Whole Foods, or if that was a nutroots campaign.

Should've included people who have bond funds in their 401(k)s. Obama came down pretty hard on them for standing in the way of state ownership of the means of production in the GM and Chrysler deals.

Re: Add Mathew HOH-Foreign Service State Dept Afganistan
by lilmacg

He resigned his post going public against intervening in what he deemed to be a civil war in Afgan in which we are assisting one side only. Additionally he says the civil war appears to be about our presence there and not to remove insurgents from its populace as was the case in Iraq.

He goes to to say that the insurgents are the People of Afgan and thus cannot be seperated from the afgan populace.

One brave former Marine speaking out against the Rahm LLP czar US Cabinet led govt conflict war who says we are spending billions in waste in Afgan on a civil war within.

hmm

Fox news has the story--

Ford Motors
by Urquhart

The only domestic auto company not owned by the federal government, and they post strong profits in trying times. Surely, the Dems must be thrilled to see an actual green shoot, as opposed to the ones they just make up.

Alas. Not sure who Democrats.com are, but I would think they're connected to the DNC. Great work finding another enemy, fellas!

If You Must Intervene
by Urquhart

you should do so on one side only. And do so strongly, so that side wins. Intervening on both sides doesn't seem very effective.

I have no expert knowledge on what should be done with Afghanistan. I'd probably go with McChrystal. He seems to know his stuff. Whatever Obama decides, he should damned well decide. The dithering doesn't help anyone.

Maybe he wants to intervene on both sides, just to make it fair.

Strangely absent from the enemies list are the Iranian government, Hugo Chavez, Russia, North Korea, Burma and Hamas.

But we're definitely cracking down on Facebook pages and powerless Honduranians. Yes, we can.

Joe Lieberman then,
by Gatewood
although I don't know if he counts since it's the media that's out for his blood for sticking a shiv into Obama's health care boondoggle. There are always proxies standing by to do Obama's blood work for him. Isn't that nice?
Gonna control your virtue and vice

Santa Marx is coming to town.

Did we get the internet in general in there with Net Neutrality? Mark Lloyd and "going beyond The Fairness Doctrine?"

Huh?
by anxious_mofo
Net neutrality isn't anything like the fairness doctrine. Ace of Spades wouldn't be required to cross-post from the Huffington Post. Net neutrality is a requirement that providers of internet infrastructure treat packets from one source the same as packets from another: e.g., Verizon would not be able to make a deal with Netflix to make its movies stream much more quickly than movies streamed from Amazon or Hulu.
Re: putting a puppet in a civil war: I defer to onsite
by lilmacg

Foreign Service State Dept resigned Mathew Hoh who did an extenstion interview on Fox news--

Not to mention is served in the marines in iraq!

Johnny on the spot marine turned statesman resigning with public statements sure carries its weight with me over any intell debaters left or rights--

But it does seem with opposition quitting saying the fixed election puppet govt of Obama Adm would only fix it again backs up Statesman Hoh---Certainly to hear his voice--

ya got the source---FOX News-- rest is good ole boot strapping insider research to bring back to the BOTF Table--

Make it a better pale--"build it and he will come"

the reasons for fords profits
by baltimore aureole

- they weren't forced by the car czar to close "brands" (like pontiac and saturn)

- the weren't forced to close/merge dealerships as part of the bailout, like GM and Chrysler were

- the F150 outsells the Chevy and Dodge pickups

- the Mustang outsells the camaro and charger

- the hybrid fusion is a better car than the hybrid chevy malibu

and so on and so forth. Ford is headed by an actual smart guy (Mulally sp?), as opposed to GM and Chrysler.

does anyone really believe that we'll soon see thousands of re-badged fiat 500's flooding american streets? these things can't even compete with honda and toyota in europe, where smaller size makes sense. nobody in their right mind would pick a fiat 500 over a civic - plus the fiat is going to cost more

Fiats By Fiat

Heck, if we're going to start forcing people to buy health insurance for the privilege of breathing US air, where's the limit?

Good for Him
by Urquhart

And good for whoever the generals in Iraq were who were totally wrong about the Surge. I'm just sayin that Petraeus and McChrystal know what they're talking about. I don't. Joe Biden doesn't. They do.

I'd defer to his judgment and send him what he thinks he needs to win.

But if Obama decides the other way, none of us is in any position to make a call that he was wrong. I just wish he'd decide something, and not leave our guys hanging out there, twisting in the wind and getting shot at.
