I don't know what Ayn Rand has to do with the Republican Party. I've associated with them for 14 years, and I've never even heard Rand mentioned in a face-to-face conversation. Their basis for their ideals, to the extend they think philosophically at all, would be the writings of Benjamin Franklin, who lived 150 years before Rand.
