didn't make a very good showing for herself when she was chosen as McCain's running mate in 2008.
But she was a successful governor of Alaska and threw the good old boys' groups under the bus if it meant correcting corruption as she saw it. She threw both Republicans and Democrats under the bus. It didn't matter.
But in blatantly liberal interviews she just didn't look good and she didn't seem to have information at her fingertips that she needed to look as if she was capable of running our country - even as a VP. But she doggedly moves forward. Quitting her governor job was either a huge mistake or it was the best move she could have made. That remains to be seen.
IF Sarah Palin can learn from her blunders - learn that politics is made up of a lot of carnivores and that she isn't even safe trusting her own party and if she can just learn more than what she can see from her kitchen window, we might all be surprised.
The Republicans need a charismatic leader. It still remains that at the beginning of the campaign that ended with the 2008 election, Palin had more actual experience than Obama had. She had been governor of a state, he had only been a community organizer and then a Senator for a little while. If Palin can pull together the smarts she needs and step out there into the running in 2010, the backlash of what Obama is doing to us now, what he is cramming down our throats may just propel her into the office that none of us ever thought she would reach.
It remains to be seen what will happen. I am making no predictions here because I don't know whether or not she has what it takes. But it should be interesting watching.
