Scozzafava, the ousted repub, has just endorsed the Dem Bill Owens. she said it was a district issue and called Hoffman a carpetbagger. <link>
She's a QUITTER
by Helipilot

The announcement comes after a Siena College poll found she was in third place with 20 percent of the vote in the heavily Republican district that has been safe ground for the party for more than 100 years. Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman and Democratic nominee Bill Owens were too close to call with 35 percent and 36 percent, respectively.

the NY Independent party who initially endorsed Scozzafava also switched their endorsement to dem Owens.

I don't know how informed the voter in NY-23 are, but if they follow the national trend, there are many who are uninformed out there. Since Scozzafava's name will remain on the ballot as the (R) candidate, I wonder how many will wander into the voting booth and push the (R) button out of habit, thus giving another vote to the (D) Owens?
Gotta understand NY politics

those Senators who run face the Aaegean Stables; NYC is decidely liberal with Wall Street being thought of as conservative;

The farm countries and the "country gentleman" along the upper Hudson are a mix also, but those outbacks near Rochester? a tough row to sow for anyone running out of NYC,

You see, Wall Street, let down the farm country and the Rochester crowd; hell, Albany's full of technies now, so don't expect any conservative endorsement there.

Wall Street is gonna be the Waterloo of the carpetbagger, that lasse faire Ayn Rand attitude isn't going to work with this crowd anymore; they look to the Southern part of the state and still see extreme wealth, and it's a rightful view, so when Scozza threw in the towel and endorsed the Democrat, it's a clarion bell for the right; no one throws in the towel, unless the numbers are against them.
