Patrick, even if you were an "individual thinker" about this stuff it would be of the Immanuel Velikovsky or Erich von Daniken or Jane Roberts variety. But you're not. You didn't invent or come up with any of the various cockamamie and discredited ideas, you just got absorbed (and willingly and eagerly, it seems to me) into the crank Borg

The vaccination stuff puts you right in with the rest of the birthers and truthers and flat-earthers, whose factitious worlds bear no tangency to reality. As nearly as I can tell, you have no particular education or background or training in any of this stuff, yet you presume to discredit and sneer at a scientific establishment whose aggregate track record over the last few centuries is, all in all, pretty good. I'll take my chances with them, as opposed to somebody obsessed with secret Biblical codes and clues, and turns the same magical turn of thinking to fringe hypotheses whose truth and validity is supposedly suppressed by a worldwide conspiracy.

As for stroking egos, pretty much all you're doing here is precisely that, except that it's strictly your own.
