Rich Kids Get Scared
by PoeStorm
It's so nice to see that I wasn't the only one completely taken by surprise the affluence of this 20-something young couple. I enjoyed the movie, but I kept getting pulled out of the film by thoughts of, "Look at the size of that TV!" and "They have a pool?" or "Nice computer set-up." even "No wonder she's failing school, she needs to spend more time hitting the books and less time at the bead table." Yay, for being unaware of privilege! It took a while to get over their obvious wealth. It's distracting when something like the set makes it difficult to become immersed in a film. I am the same age as this couple and I can't image being able to afford a house or apartment like that - especially as a student! Paranormal activity indeed. Thanks for that mention in your review Dana Stevens. PS. Her college level Spanish is laughable, she's just learning to say, "I want to become a teacher? Jeez.

Well, the boyfriend is a daytrader (translation: professional gambler). I dont think that house was too expensive for someone in that career path who hasn't inevitably gone bankrupt yet.

As a college prof, I can tell you that "me gusta cerveza" is a stretch for some students finishing second-semester Spanish.
