Tickle Abuse
by talithasuya

Not to play the gender card (she says as she whips out the gender card) but a man PHYSICALLY RESTRAINING a woman in order to do what he wants after she has specifically expressed (during non-laughing moments) that she doesn't want him to do it...really gives me chills.

He might as well have raped her and killed her puppy. Same thing if you think about it. Cut his balls off I say.

It's so discouraging to read letter after letter from women who say their SO is a sweet, wonderful, caring guy and then go on to describe blatantly abusive behavior. These women are so afraid of being alone, they'll rationalize anything. I've got news for them: there are worse things than being alone, and one is being tied to an abuser. Prudie was spot on; Tickled Pink needs to get out while she can.

Yes, you go back to your cats, granARJ . Just remember that you're just a walking can of Whiskas to them and they'll never put their head between your legs in a crowded restaurant.

Well, there's no need to whip out the gender card. If a woman physically restrained a man and did things to him he didn't want, it's just as horrifying and just as wrong. Plus he has to deal with the cultural bias that will abuse and mock him if he ever tries to speak out about being abused by a woman. It's not OK either way.

Hm ... those are the only choices? Accept an abusive man or be a spinster up to her eyeballs in cats? I think there're a few more possibilities out there ...not to mention the only reason a cat wouldn't put its head between its owner's legs in a crowded restaurant is that cats aren't allowed into restaurants.

Gee, Tarquin. With an erudite posting like that, you must be very proud of yourself.

Really, Terrils. Whether you've trained your cat to perform this service or whether it is acting independently, this is really too much information.

I am a retired law enforcement officer with too many domestic disturbance calls under my belt. This guy's actions are dispicable and are criminal. In many states, this actually would constitute felony domestic violence, if she could show it was happening. At a minimum, it is assault and battery. This one is not a keeper. I read a suggestion in another post that she should try to get him to deciode to leave, which I thought was a great idea.

That is a good idea, Roscoe. The getting him to leave one, I mean.

If this guy truly believes that the LW actually likes tickling, and the fact that she hates it is all in her mind, she'll have to burn the place down to get him out. He will never accept or believe that she wants him gone. She'll be overreacting and a hideous b*tch. I don't actually think that, but I've seen minds like this guy's at work. It isn't pretty. And he'll laugh it off, and stay. Or he'll go all stalker on her, and she won't be able to go ANYWHERE that he doesn't show up and cause a scene. (and frankly, what sort of sadistic Jedi mind trick is that? "You want to be forcibly restrained and endure your version of torture every day. You want to go get me a cold drink from the refrigerator. These ARE the droids you're looking for.")
