This article brought back fond childhood memories of watching Charles Kuralt's wonderful On The Road segments:)

Two quotes in this piece struck me:

"They didn't know there was anything special about themselves," says Kuralt's longtime cameraman, Isadore Bleckman, "until Charles held up a mirror to them."

"If you don't try to make the world just a little bit nicer, when you leave here," he ponders, facing his own mortality, "what is the reason for a man's existence in the first place?"
