Good then, good now - Kuralt and Cronkite

Both these men represent another time, when news was news and CBS, and the others, had sold out to the advertisers and the conflict of interest.

Kuralt was a perfect human being, who is, but whatever he was he served America well by inserting breaks in the endless VietNam conflict that was served up nightly at dinner time.

I remember his pieces as showing the world, I watched from Canada, that Americans are real humans rather than the false images that flowed from our screens, constantly, even more these days.

No one but no one has Kuralts touch today and I will be one who will buy the DVD set to ahow others what American TV news was really like in it's prime.
