is to silence his critics
if a sitting president can cast asperisions on his detractors for simply being out of office - well, shame on us for accepting the hilarous premise that someone who served 8 years at the executive level has less legitimatcy than someone who has served 8 months.
my post is devoid of judgement over whether cheney's military advice has any value or not - it should be debated on its merits, not on his current job description (political pundit and former VP) . . . and for the record, i've posted numerous times in fray that i have yet to see how we could possibly put enough troops in afghanistan to prevent taleban inflitration into every village and hamlet the moment the kersosene lanterns are doused each night.
cheney, carter, clinton and bush have as much right to their opinions as anyone else. fox has a right to broadcast those opinons, and so does CNN, MSNBC, and even CBS - despite their loss of honor with the faked national guard documents.
stop trying to censor opinions before they're rendered. let the public hear the opinions, and compare them to other opinions.
unless you don't believe in a free press and democracy.
