I take time outs all the time, especially when I see the humanity in fellow posters or myself and do not like it.

As we noted right out of the Geezer-gate, it was inevitable that BOTFers of various stripes would feel the urge to post over here, for various reasons. Several good posters have stayed to post here at least part-time, liking what they saw. It's been a roaring success thus far. The appearance of troll-spoor was built into the business model.

Among the naysayers, even Urq could not resist a bit of a tantrum, but not surprisingly he quickly recovered his self-respect and self-possession. That's not an option for ICPers like the Toad, as we know, but now that even the Oaf has degenerated into a CaliforniaDreamin'/SpiderMBA type, he can be treated as such full time. That means he becomes background noise, which he wasn't really on BOTF.

Calif/Spider was the exemplar of a certain Fray type----an avowed arch-conservative of the most racist, homophobic, abusive, prolix, and hyperbolic nature. For some odd reason, right-wing racist slanderers prove the most sensitive and complaining of all when they are delivered a dose of their own medicine. Callouts ("WORST POSTER OF THE WEEK---ARCH" etc.) and loud demands for apologies (on PFray----"APOLOGIZE, TED BURKE OR I SHALL REMAIN") to assauge bruised sensibilities became Calif/Spider's endgame, and that's what Jack Oaf is reduced to here, having apparently decided as did Spider for a while that he prefers discord even where he's despised, to punch and cookies with like-minded half-wits in the choir loft. But it was an endgame because there was nowhere else to go from all-out war, and the "war" was really stasis. The Oaf will learn that too eventually. Yes, like LAM, and Spider before, he has countless hours with which to produce untold thousands of posts. He can boost our Most Active board rating.

One thing I may have forgotten to mention about the original Geezers experiment. I emailed Jeremy and told him what we were doing. That, I suspect, is why he was so helpful in migrating our original Geezy stuff from there to here. He could have just flushed the board, but he didn't.

He knows why we moved. I gather he also knows that's why there was a huge drop off in "abuse" complaints littering his inbox. I'm sure Jeremy is watching the board.

It was Iso. A very rough weekend.

Jay Cutler threw 3 interceptions and fumbled twice. Chad Ochocinco caught something like 25 passes for 490 yards. Cedric Benson ran for 172 yards, a career high. The O-line couldn't do a thing and the Bears went down 45-10 to the Bengals.

Oh and, someone from BotF could no longer resist our gravitational tug and started posting here.

and oh well. I'm sure he'll head back over soon enough. After all, he's one of the Best.
