Daveto made a post on BOTFin which he copied and posted an offensive remark that was apparently made by some poster from another board. Then below the remark Dave wrote some equally offensive comments and attributed them to several posters on this board.

I did not make the comment that was attributed to me; and I am certain that the other posters did not make the comments that were attributed to them.

This is over the line. Anyone with any intellectual integrity will attest to that. Two posters have uprated the post. Southern Gal and Woolley. Now, I am not surprised that some bitter old trailer trash would uprate the post; but Woolley is a hell of a disappointment.

What the hell is the matter with you, Woolley? You should be ashamed of yourself. You know me, I had lunch with you and your family. You know I would not make that comment. It's probably not important to you, but our friendship is over.

This incident clearly proves that there is absolutely no limit to what some Liberals will do to make their agenda. Dave's post was despicable, an egregious breach of common decency and a clear violation of the rules. It is despicable even by Daveto's standards.

This is not just fun & games. One poster, Ellen, has already asked Dave if the comments were true. Any who do not frequent this board on a regular basis might very easily deduce that the comments were legitimate, if they do not know the posters to whom the comments were attributed.

Dave owes those posters he maligned an apology and he owes the Fray an apology. Anyone who uprates the post is equally despicable.

You're free to assume that I think your complaint is being made in the wrong place.

There are no Slate personnel with the authority to address your concerns currently posting on this board. That, I believe is what Fraywatch is for.

I've already posted a complaint in Fraywatch, and written to the editor.. My post here was not for the purpose of registering a complaint. I just want to see if any of you have the honesty, integrity, and lack of hypocrisy to condemn Dave's post.

I see from your posts here and on other boards that you think the posters here are dishonest hypocrite liberals, as well as fucking assholes who haven't heard the last of you.

That really makes me wonder why you'd seek out condemnation of Daveto from the posters on this board in the first place.

Also, if you check out our front page here, you'll see that Daveto is an infrequent visitor to our quiet little corner bar. He stops by from time to time, but I think you err in assuming he'd read your complaint here right away. This place moves at a much slower pace than other Frays. Maybe if you reply to the actual post on the proper board you'll get Dave's attention.

Lastly, I recall a discussion I had with Jeremy when we were migrating from Geezer Base Camp to our current spot, Camp 2 on the south face. I told Jeremy that one reason some of us felt it necessary to pack up our stuff and move was that he had "sat quietly" while the old board was overrun with flamers, spammers and idiots.

Can we assume that you have posted this on every fray board?

Quick question for you: how would YOU feel if someone (say, for ex., dave to) attached a totally bogus "reply" of "yours" to a racist post like that, implying that YOU agreed with that offensive post?

And if he (daveto, for ex.) wrote nothing to imply that the Top Post was a satire or intended humorously? How would you feel?
