I learned to sail this spring aboard a 22 foot sailboat on Lake Michigan. Every time I go out, I can't explain the exhilaration I feel as the little sailboat slices through the water. Reading this blog about bareboating in the Caribbean has been such a pleasure and I hurried excitedly to work so I could read each installment. Boating season is over in Chicago and this week has been particularly rainy and cold. The thought of being at the helm of a 35+ foot sailboat in the warm weather sounds wonderful right now.

And by the way, for those not familiar with sailing, 12 knots is pretty swift for a non racing sailboat. When we sail on our 22 footer, we get all excited when we hit 4 or 5 knots. It really is the most fun you can have at 5 miles per hour.
