Are you effing serious?
by JTHC75
"What's most distinctive about the American press is not its freedom but its tradition of independence—that it serves the public interest rather than those of parties, persuasions, or pressure groups." Seriously? Since when? I'm guessing you bought into the notion of a noble and benighted, floating-above-the-fray fourth estate. What a laugh! This is what cracks me up when people go after Fox for claiming to be "fair and balanced." What, don't tell me you actually thought that the NYT prints all the news that's fit to print... . Whether Obama is right or not about Fox is beside the point. He shouldn't be doing it as the President and he shouldn't be sending out people to disparage an entire news network. It's cheapening him and it makes him look like a buffoon--really, the leader of the free world needs to waste time putting down a media critic? Moreover, no government employee should be telling us what is a legitimate or illegitimate news organization. Ridiculous!

I agree it shows a complete lack of leadership for anyone associated with the White House to mention how legimate or illegitmate a news organization is. To me Fox is a complete and total joke but I still watch them just to get an idea of the Con point of view.

Heck, I'm a conservative and even I don't watch Fox! That Fox is not particularly good as a news source is something I figured out on my own--I certainly don't want a government official telling me that. I can understand that the Admin is upset because Fox has been dogging them all year, but that comes with the territory when you enter the White House. You take the blows or say "No, that story is incorrect," but you don't lash out at the entire organization as if it's illegitimate. What's even more disturbing is their telling the rest of the press corp to stop treating Fox as legitimate.

That statement is more an indictment of the rest of the lamestream media who's been in the tank for Chairman MaObama than it is of FNC...So you revealed even more truth than you intended...oopsie.
