We tried to save Republicans years of angst and told them before the election in 1999 that Bush was a fuck up. We already knew and had to tolerate is utter idiocy for 8 terrible years and watch our country spiral into the shitter. And the Republican Congress did nothing but rubber stamp the idiots nonsense and consigned the Democrats to meeting space in the basement of the Capitol.
