Deeds as Governor of Virginia?!

Let's pray that Clinton and McAuliffe have as much success defeating McDonnell as McAuliffe did in the democratic primary against Creigh Deeds.

There is a large core of issue based political observers here in the Commonwealth. We will wait and watch the Republican and Democratic lemmings follow their prospective flags over the cliff. The growing independents will choose the next Governor of the Commonwealth for the good of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Unfortunately for Deeds it will not be him at this point, despite what Clinton and McAuliffe ponticate

Just out of curiousity, what brought this on????

Deeds had been gaining quite rapidly in the polls in recent weeks.

I have not been pleased that he's been running the sort of negative campaign against McDonnell that he has.

On the other hand, McDonnell is right out of Pat Roberson, and we've all had quite enough of that!!!!

From a business standpoint, I'd be better off with a McDonnell win. But I'm not so sure that it would be great for the state.

I saw Deeds speak in Richmond back in April. I thought he was OK.

I hope you dont think McDonnell is what is best for Virginia! The man is a total asswipe and would lead us back to the borrow and spend tactics of the last two republicon governors. Creigh Deeds may not be the strongest candidate ever to run for governor of Virginia, but he is alot better than McDonnell. Don't claim to speak for all independents, we are as diverse as and far apart as you and I.

The local paper is reporting that a new SurveyUSA poll has McDonnell up 59 to 40. That seems like something of an outlier, but it looks like the real lead that McDonnell has right now is at least 8%. That is going to be awfully tough for Deeds to make up, considering that his campaign doesn't really seem to have a theme that is resonating with Virginians.
