Obama wasted his time dissing a News Network, FOX News, instead of acting like American Presidential Material!

Obama and the Left controlled the Media, but they could not control FOX News! He and the Obama Campaign couldn't make FOX News their puppet! They just couldn't pull the strings of that one Network!

TEL AVIV – President Obama's presidential campaign focused on "making" the news media cover certain issues while rarely communicating anything to the press unless it was "controlled," White House Communications Director Anita Dunn disclosed to the Dominican government at a videotaped conference.

"Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," said Dunn.

There's "controlling the message" and then there's "controlling the media". Two completely different things. Fox is still on the air and will remain so, regardless of criticism, as long as advertisers keep buying time slots. Get it?

The Obama administration has shown no desire whatsoever to keep Fox from broadcasting or to try to control them in any way.

Gibbs asked a reporter to join him to watch Fox News yesterday around 5 and 9 and see if he thought it was news....fine, its not news in fact its opinion programming. What about MSNBC "The ED Show" "Countdown" and Maddow......why isn't the White House asking the other news services to shun MSNBC as well? Or CNN because of Lou Dobbs?........

Beats me. The original post suggested that it was the administration's intent to control the media. I merely pointed out that what they are actually doing is controlling the message. There is a difference. I can't think of one administration in recent history that hasn't tried to control the message.

Let me ask you this, has the intensity of Fox's criticism of Obama somehow been neutered by the comments coming out of the White House, or has it, in fact, intensified?

I'm going to to with intensified. President Obama does not have the power to control the media. In spite of all the hysterics, this is still a somewhat free society.

The fact is that Fox Noise is not a news organization, although it constantly masquerades as one.

I don't mind it one bit that the Adminstration has pointed this out.

And, I've been very amuses watching the right wingers whine and stomp about it, all the while never trying to defend Fox's honesty or integrity.

The difference between what Fox does and what MSNBC does is plain.

Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman do not pass their programs off as news. They're in the opinion and commentary business.

Noone as MSNBC distributes a talking points memo, or insists that all of its presenters work key phrases and concepts into their show a certain number of times every hour.

And MSNBC is not run by a Republican poltical consultant.

What the White House has done is point out the obvious, and to urge the rest of the media not to carry Fox's propoganda by repeating propoganda mislabeled as news.

Alice, the Obama presidential campaign has been over for almost a year now...he won or didn't you notice? Controlling what they communicated is not the same as controlling the media, Hell Bush never said anything that wasn't first approved by Cheney and Rove, did he control the media?

Sicko, maybe MSNBC and CNN, especially the shows you mentioned, don't call themselves "news shows" they are opinion shows and make no bones about it. FOX on the other hand claims to be a "news network" when in reality all they offer are their opinions. Which is fine with me, I rarely watch that crap and when I do I just laugh at the fools they call reporters. I will admit that FOX has a way of getting the hottest bubbleheaded bleach blondes to sit on their couches and give shots up their skirts. Now that's news reporting!

Assuming WingNutDaily is even correct about the quote, a BIG assumption, it would appear that she meant that the Obama people were controlling the content of information that was going out TO the media....not controlling the media.
