is sound psychological strategy, but your characterization is a bit much. No one argues JTM's prerogative to do what he did---the question is, was it necessary. Why did it happen in the first place? And the answer has zip all to do with consideration for the ersatz Geezers experimenters.
His "Announcement" is just below here, originally posted on Geezers as you'll recall. He explains, after announcing the eviction,
We're publishing a Geezers story soon and will need that forum for actual article-related comments.
There's naught there or elsewhere to do with him not "wanting us to have to put up with" anything coming up, nor objective acknowledgement of the degradation of BOTF which caused the exodus in the first place (which last, amusingly, BOTF dead-enders are styling a "political" exodus because of proggie fear and loathing of their powerful indictments of President Obama! Yeah, sure, you betcha, that's why I joined the exodus, one of the very few real conservatives there, because of powerful Anti-Obama sentiment.....not because of the toxic moron brigade.)
"We need" the Geezers board, JTM says disingenuously, as if article commenters are somehow blocked from posting about the article, literally or figuratively, by the presence of non-article-related posts on the same board. Several boards maintain that same dynamic regularly, and have for years without issue. And his "actual article-related comments" usage demonstrates his affirmative disdain for non-article related Fray posting. Bottom line---JTM is a ham-handed bureaucrat with a decided strain of gleeful weasel. His decision to move all extant Geezers posts to Procrastinators was arguably considerate, true, in that it was something he didn't have to do. Based on his overall behavior, though, it's more at smug "Tell you what I'll do" condescension than genuine respect for the noteworthy content produced.
