Go Broncos!!

Just amazing. How much longer can this last, people? I'll take wagers if anyone feels like it. Does the Donkeys run end next week? Or can they keep this up? And Jack, why are the Saints second on your favorites list and Broncos third? Shouldn't that be reversed?
Also, Nice Front Page, folks. Good work, lots of variety, lots of focus on issues, not too much apparent nuttiness, NO spamming ... has the existence of The Other Place actually freed us up to be our own better poster selves? Thanks to all.

mother superior. I'm doing my best to be a bridge over troubled waters, but I'm flattered and gratified that you recognize my efforts here. So come on, let's ratch it up a bit. How about something a little more substantial, tempo?

I've loved the Cowboys since High school. They are and always will be my favorite team.
I went to New Orleans after the Navy. My wife and daughter are from there. We were there when the Saints started. I suffered with them, went to the games, loved the Saints, and still do.
I moved to Colorado in 1980 and lived there many years. Colorado is still the home of my heart. When the Broncos went to the Super Bowl in 1987, there were people who repainted their houses blue and orange. Two guys filled an above ground swimming pool with orange jello and sat in it until it jelled.
I love the Broncos.

Boulder-Denver Turnpike a few years ago -- beige or a light gray or something. (The one in Northglenn, on North Federal or N. Pecos) -- I was so disapopinted. I think you need to flip your #2 and #3 choices, 'sall I'm sayin. (Btw, I went Over There and asked m-too to keep posting Over Here & he said he will.) Bet you the Saints lose next week -- will you take a wager? (Doesn't have to be money and in our case, could be far more interesting if it's not. Heh.)

It is nice in here..though, I see Inky is trying to disturb the peace ,as is topazz__ the banned, again. I guess their boredom with their selves on the "Geezers Fray", represses their dispruptive urges, until they just have to start in and cause trouble again. That's a shame. But, clearly now, as we see ,....by Ink's above post ,it is on them (the trouble-making). I never went over to Geezers, at all.....and was glad they took their nasty stalking asses away from here for a a hot minute. Happy for you Broncos/Cowboys/football fans. I see the Yankees lost to LA/Anaheim Angels last night. Hoping the win tonight. My mom's view is the Phillies are a better team this year than The Dodgers so she'd like to see her Yankees play the Dodgers..but doesn't look like that will will happen. So, The Phillies vs. Yankees World Series(if the Yankees make it) should be a real good match -up, if it ends up that way.
I love to watch Yankees pitcher ,Mariano Rivera and the game itself. Wishing you luck with The Broncos, though! Nice post. :-)

Oh yes, I saw it. Posted by It. aka Mr. I'm So Above It All, right? I think he's bothered that more & more Gizzard-tasters are finding the gizzards to be less than appetizing & are returning here. At least from time to time. As Grog wrote the other night, "Geezers boring." I hope people will just ignore him (Not Grog!) ... as he deserves. They're trying to play it both ways now, the two you mentioned and I bet no one who's been following The Gizzards Saga is at all surprised by who the two worst offenders are. Are you? (**) [Three, plus acro.] If they want to have their own private playground, that's cool but don't come back Over Here & behave like trash. (Maybe they just can't help it?) I knew they couldn't stick to their resolutions about remaining Above It All and all that high-ground crap. Well, he just proved it, didn't he? Her, too, but at least she didn't a Top Post.
I have to tell you, with my apologies, that I am rooting for the Yankees, Laurie. My family (both those still alive & my Dad, who isn't ...) would never forgive me if I didn't. They were our family's team, always & ever, even as most of us have dispersed around the U.S. and I grew up in a part of Upper Manhattan where you could almost throw a ball (granted, a long) at Yankee Stadium. (Before moving to the burbs, that is) So ... they're in my blood, so to speak.
Good luck, though! I like it that people there call them The Haloes. That is cute.

Oh how funny. Check his upratings. It is to laugh and so in that spirit, I gave myself one, too. (one, two?) They just will not stop w. the games. Bunch of babies and as G'wood quite accurately says, whiners, too.

I'm for the Yankees, too! (my main loyalties still remain with them, always, being a native New Yorker). I can still remember going with my dad and big brother, on the subway to The Bronx, to watch Mickey Mantle and The Yankees on a New York City afternoon in the old Stadium before it was renovated, when I was around 7 years old. We went to The City, on vacation often. (my mom and dad were married in NYC and lived there until my oldest brother was about a year old.)
But, if The Angels win I'd be happy for them, being a Californian now, for 25 years. But, yes, me too....rooting for The Yankees, of course! ;-) And p.s. whoever Grog is is a total riot. A really funny parody.

Seriously, do you see how ridiculous this is. If we don't respond to you then we're wimps and pussies hiding over at geezers who can't take your awesome intellect. If we do respond then we're bullying you and stalking you and "causing trouble". Take a fucking side already. Do you want us back or not?

and I've always had a soft spot for Roger Maris, Phil Rizzuto, Yogi Berra, et al. Hey, maybe we saw each other at a game? :-) The New England contingent of my family is/are all Red Sox fans of course, now that they've lived there so long but they started out as Brooklyn Dodger fans ( my brother in law is from there) & Yankees, on our side. Did not know that about your folks, either. Do you remember where in NYC they lived? My first home was near the poster "God of Wine" but then we moved to the burbs when I was quite young. As to the other issue, people are ignoring the mimicking the Top Post, am happy to see. (But he'll prob. go on back home to GizzardLand and rally some of them to come over here. I call a&s as the next one to cave...)

What's funnier is tartuffe
gave him a thumbs up,too. Which shows how silly they are. Clearly,(
even though being clear is hardly something one could ever say about Ink's
posts. As they are hypergraphic obtuse, and whacky in the extreme ), but
most know, he's a rabid conservative at heart..so tartuffe's uprate
makes little sense ,except in the sense he wants to make a statement
too, that he is a fray centric nutjob like Ink, who wants to encourage
Ink's endless baiting chum and fraycentric troublemaking here. They are to die for for funny, goofy as shit ,as ever. Some things never change. ;-)

No, *I* don't want you back. Not if you're going to behave like this, acro. And you guys are the ones who are stirring it up -- take a look at Ink's new top post here, then read mine, OK? He makes himself quite clear. So since you asked -- No, take your Fray 'balls' and go home -- i.e., head on back to the Geezer Corral. Just one person's opinion, of course. We've been quite happy & peaceful (except for the politics) over here the last two weeks. I for one, would like to see it stay that way. As for Laurie, she has stayed totally away from the Geezer Corral/Country Club and she is free to express herself safely & w/out crits. over here. What don't you get about that?
(Of course, you must realize how ironic your all-caps subject line is here, after how you chided me for my occasional use of boldface & some itals, no?)

They were married at St.
Columbo Church (yes, that's the proper spelling for the Catholic
Church:Columbo) And they lived on West 24 th Street, or close to that
number..somewhere in The Mid to lower West 20's. My Father worked
for The Shubert Theatre Chain on Broadway. And for years afterwards,
when we would go there on summer vacations, we got to see play after
Broadway play, for free because my dad knew so many people there. (this
was before they went back upstate and he started working for his
brother in the restaurant business and eventually became a full partner
in those ventures.) I have vivid memories of riding
through the city in yellow checker taxis amazed by the incredible
billboards on Broadway and such ,from as far back as age 5 or so. Nice memories. Thanks for asking and sharing your memories, too.
