Quotin Chomeini, Ahmadinejad really said that "the regime that occupies Jerusalem musst be wiped from the annals of time" (safha-yi rozgar). While this is a hostile quote that speaks of the wish to actually end the state of Israel, it by no means implies a desire to nuke Israel. Iran, if it wants the bomb (which is not at all clear), wants it for different purposes. The atomic bomb in the hands of any state, except the USA, is a purely defensive tool. The Mullahs may be deluded (as indeed any believer in any god is - Hitch will nod in wild agreement on that), but they foster no death wish.
