There is no doubt that Fox is biased and boisterous

There is also no doubt that the rest of the mainstream media is biased in the other direction.

Fox did? Beck for sure but the network? I don't think so.

Religious Lib,

How about Obama's convention speech in Denver? NEWS ALERT: The President's stage appears to have *Roman*-looking columns!!! More to follow...

But I credit Obama for being able to fill up that and other venues, not the media. You can't get people to go somewhere unless they want to. The magnitude of the 9/12 tea parties were staggering, not just in DC but nationwide. The lack of coverage (and the huge focus on a handful of questionable or distasteful signs), however, was appalling.

well lets talk about the tea parties.

first, as far as 9/12 rally, it came out a week later that someone had photoshopped the the event to look bigger than it was.

UPDATE: Don Surber notes here that despite the disagreement over actual marchers, there can be no disagreement over who watched the tea party march on TV: More than twice as many as watched the president's Minnesota appearance on two stations combined.)

As our colleague in Washington, Joe Markman, writes today, several conservative groups behind the march say that as many as 2 million people turned out to protest everything from Obama's proposed healthcare overhaul to the legitimacy of his election.

Others, however, say the crowd was much smaller. A spokesman for the District of Columbia Fire Department made an unofficial estimate of 60,000 to 70,000 people.

Arguments about crowd estimates are, as Markman writes, "as much a part of Washington as its granite monuments."

This one took a rather scandalous turn, however, when a photo circulated among conservatives as proof of a larger crowd was revealed to be a fake.

The photo, shown at right, depicts a crowd stretching from the Capitol nearly to the Washington Monument. It was posted on several conservative blogs and Facebook pages, with notations that it was taken on Saturday.

second to claim it is not fox but glenn beck who organized it is just disingenous.

hannity and all the other shows hyped it for weeks.

fox covered it for an entire day.

the joke is gays put on a parade last weekend and had just as many as the teabaggers.

finally, the tea party crazies have turned most americans against them with their pictures of obama as hitler. that is why his approval rating has improved since the tea parties began.

60,000 protestors in DC is not "staggering". There were 600,000 protestors in New York for an Iraq war protest in Feb, 2003 - millions worldwide on that same day - that was staggering.

Their news coverage of the teabaggers was hardly balanced. They did everything they could to inflate the numbers of attendees or to interview only tea baggers at town hall meetings. Why no interviews with the congressmen and women who were shouted down by the teabaggers? Why no interviews with people who were angry at the people who were so rude as to stop meetings?

You think Beck was on his own with that stuff?

When did you ever see MSNBC conduct a campaign to get someone fired from the Bush administration over something they said?

I may be wrong, but if you're trying to say that is a sign of "Liberal Bias" I think you're wrong. It's a sign that 24 hour news stations, regardless of their slant, have a hard time filling those 24 hours. Some fill it with hours of "Opinion News" (FOX and MSNBC) and others talk about increasingly inane subjects (Wolf Blitzer talking about the water bottles candidates can use if they get thirsty during a debate).

there are three or four incidents of Fox reporters and producers urging a crowd on to be boisterous on cue at those rallies. just search utube.

Urging a crowd and organizing the rally are two different things.

They may be two different things, but both are indicative of a news organization attempting to influence or make news.

It is ridiculous to argue that the American media that uncritically broadcast Bush's disinformation on Iraq's WMDs has some kind of left wing bias.

I doubt Fox organized the tea party protests. They did do a great job of promoting them though.

Plenty of precedent for that.

"We've got trouble, I say we've got trouble right here in River City."

The same shameless "liberal" media spent the better part of a year enthusiastically beating the war drums for Bush the Ist invasion of Kuwait and Iraq. This horrible "liberal" pro-Bush, Pro-War media has got to be straightened out. It's truly a good thing that Fox News is here to fix everything with their "liberal" doses of fair and balanced bloviations.

Perhaps the word "liberal" doesn't mean what we think it means. Maybe we're just confused.
