this week looks very healthy, productive, prolific, full of thought-provoking opinions and posts, spam-free (crossing our fingers here) and with lots of differing opinions, both expressed and tolerated.

There's a nice feeling of fresh air in here these days, free also of personal, phony superiority complexes, verbal invective, snarky criticism, long-term stalking & denial of same and behind-the-scenes backstabbing. Jack & Gatewood were right, let 'them' stay 'over there.' Things look really good and very promising over here on the Mother Fray. ('imho, of course.')

For an update on the great silver helium "UFO" balloon saga, you can check out www.denverpost.com, www.KUSA-9TV, www.thedenverchannel.com. Apparently Northern Colorado has been invaded (infested?) by a huge coterie of national & international media persons. Haven't seen anything like this since the Democratic National Convention last summer.

Hopefully, this latest infestation will also prove economically profitable for our state. As to that family, wow, there's more than a few back-stories there, looks like. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Larimer County Dep't. of Social Services doesn't take another look at storm-chasing, media-hungry, telegenic Dad Richard. Meanwhile, the little boy seems safe and sound. And the Larimer County Sheriff's Department will be re-scheduling some further interviews with the family, just in case. Tomorrow, after they've gotten some rest.

Its really sort of like an episode on the original Star Trek TV show where the crew comes upon these two aliens who are locked in a fierce battle of hatred with each other. The two men are humanoid  except for being split down center of their head where they are white on one side of their face and black on the other. The show mostly entails the aliens explaining why they have contempt for  the other and why they therefore must fight. Finally at the end of the show Kirk asks what the problem is since the two both look the same. The alien, played by Frank Gorshin, responds: "Can't you see we are completely different. I'm black on the right side of my face and white on the left, while he is black on the left side of his face and white on the right."

I could never figure out why Kirk had to be told about the differences between the two types of aliens, when a 12 year-old kid (me) saw it right away.

I recall none of the posters, who became fed up here and went there, posting as many as 11 top posts on a page while the authior of this top post was defending and enabling said spammer.

I don't recall any of the posters who left here drunkenly stalking posters left and right while crying about being stalked, or being serial complainers to the fray editors.

None of the posters who left here repeatedly posted private information about others that was not previously released here. The complete and total meltdowns, the snarky attacks that never ended were all tolerated for a long time. people pleaded with the abusers to put an end to it. Now the worst of the offenders pretend none of it ever happened. And thats more disgusting than all the rest of it.

You didn't respond to the top poster for drunken stalking, lying, or serial complaining to fray editors. You attacked her for writing a snarky top post for which you can find a several exact equivalents in Geezers. Your preaching will be a lot more impressive if you'll do it equally everywhere.

Word to the wise: If you want to be left alone in your new digs, it would be a good idea not to come over here to throw shit around. The folks over there might not like it if it follows you back.

If you go farther back to the beginning last week of the resuscitated 'other place,' you will find far (FAR) worse posts than mine -- posts including plans & agreements to shun/ostracize several BOTF posters --- by name. Nick's post here is the essence of "Geezer" hypocrisy; 'methinks the [gentleman] doth protest too much.' Poster "tartuffe" is playing the same game. My opinion: they should just choose one Fray and stick with it. Their co-founders are doing precisely that, which pleases me. Thanks again for speaking up.

Precisely, Mr. Seed. And if you dig farther back (to last week, Page whatever they're up to now --2?) you will find the "manifestos" wherein they acknowledge they founded the place simply to get away from the likes of me, Jack, Gatewood, LAM, lilmacg ... and you. Let them have fun over there -- all 13 of them, talking to each other, repeating themselves constantly and not welcoming any divergent opinions or positions. This place looks lively , active and flourishing -- someting they did not count on. If anything, the BOTF looks better than it has in years, if not months. Good riddance to bad rubbgeezs. Our only real 'loss' (and I doubt it will be permanent) is the presence of Meridian too/two.
