My issue with the public versus private discussion is that it occurred in the XX factor. Why is that? This is what happens when you set up something like the XX factor. Issues that are relevant to everyone get coopted. Is the issue of how to educate our children only important for women? Probably some of the contributors want to imagine that the answer is yes, but it isn't. Slate has a "Life" section, and that is where this article belongs. Keep the XX factor for articles about how horrible men are and how fabulous and yet perpetually victimized women are.
