'70s Hondas
by aandyhayes
Couldn't agree more. I taught myself to ride on a '63 CT200 Trail 90, moved up to a friends SL350 - it felt like a jet compared to the 90. I had a '76 CB360T for while, like Tim's bike with a few more CCs - rode it from Pittsburgh to Maine and back - this was in "double nickel" days, and it was pretty good at a steady 55. The only post- '84 bike I've owned was a '95 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 - MISERABLE riding position with the forward pegs. I once test rode a 2000 Kawasaki W650 - it was great = just like the bikes of the '60s and 70s - light, kick-starter, laced wheels, chain drive but with modern electrics. Too bad they stopped making them - I should have bought it when I had the chance. Now I have a new Triumph Bonneville which has a nice standard riding position but is still a tad hefty at almost 500 lbs all up.
