What is with the waving of the white flags here?

It's not like Slate makes enough money to keep a close watch on every corner of its backyard at every minute of the day. Sure, they can put out roach motels, but roaches always come back.

And roaches aren't really backyard critters ... uh buoey.

I'm putting up no white flags, but if the party is moving, I'd rather follow it than miss out on my enjoyment of it.

And depending on what goes on, it may be that we got one of those annoying neighbors who'd rather call the cops on the backyard bbq for noise at 10:01 pm then come over for a steak or burger and beer.

Damn straighten! We can't just run up a white flag and see who salutes. We need to trim this ship with a square jaw on the other cheek. Only a coward turns tails when running. Seize one day at a time! Live to a glass half full! Their over-moderation will bite them in your tongue like a fox painting a henhouse. Mark my wording.

i would hate a neighbor who calls the police on me THEN comes over for a steak or burger and beer :)
