Poor Chicago! The news is reporting they received the least amounts of votes of anyone. No one expected them to come in this low.

What happened? Didn't Obama's magic lasar beam eyes, work over there in Denmark? How is that possible?

O! the joy.

I'm so happy for Madrid and Rio, that I'll be delighted no matter which is chosen.

I'm so happy, that I don't even mind the Moron Twins replying to my post.

Oh happy day.

70 million bucks?

The pledged money was from private funds.

This thing didn't cost Chicago taxpayers a dime.

Sending the delegation to Copenhagen wasn't free, but I don't think it was 70 million bucks.

And, considering the fact that us winning the games would have been a financial disaster, it's a win. A big win.

Eat it Richie Daley. Eat it, and like it.

Surrrre it is.

Wasn't the big reason Obama and Michelle went to Denmark was to charm them into voting for Chicago to get it? Yes.

Wasn't the big rationale from Obama that the Olympics would help greatly in creating jobs in Chicago, as well as wanting to root for his hometown?

Yes, again.

So how come you are blaming poor angelic (the historically connected and corrupt Chicago family) Richard Daley?

How about Obie himself?

Never mind..I know..it's your hero's super powers that keep you so unable to face facts, that Obama tried and lost.

For the Second Time
by Urquhart

in my adult life, I am proud of President Obama. His sandbagging was so effective that Chicago was eliminated in the first round, receiving the fewest votes of any city. Hell, even Tokyo beat us, and their big pitch was that 2016 would be the last Olympics ever due to global warming. Chicago apparently had a less convincing presentation than that.

Congratulations to the entire team for handing off this hot potato so adroitly. I think it was our pro-Rio postings that pushed us over the top. Though Madrid is looking pretty strong.

It's true M9, most Americans love our country. No sin in that.

Should be interesting to see just how many billions London finally loses on 2012. I think they're about 12 billion over budget so far.

Thanks again IOC.

Made my day.

Good to know it wasn't from the City.

But that's still a lot of money down the drain.

Not at all, it's just the rest of the world you need to work on. I guess the main concern was that half of the contestants would finish up in Gitmo or Bagram plus the hassle of trying to get through passport control
