I spent 18 months in Baghdad. Was it hot ????? We baked muffins on the HOOD OF A VEHICLE !!! We were able to open a bottle of water left out in the sun, and make HOT COFFEE ! Regular thermometers didn't register high enough. WE USED A MEAT THERMOMETER !!!!!!!!! The highest we registered was 158 degrees.......(that's what I said, 158 !) When you can fry an egg (literally) on the ground, then it's gotta be hot.

And the only "open, breezy" area I ever found was in FRANKFURT on my way home.
