So - Kaus can't do the logic or the math.
by tonto_goldberg

The alleged ACORN voter fraud scandal is a big red herring. What ACORN did was collect hundreds of thousands of voter registration application forms in almost every state. Many of the names were bogus or duplicates or from people ineligible to vote, like convicted felons who had not had their voting rights restored. That would be voter application fraud.

Those forms got turned in to the state and local agencies which actually screen and register voters. ACORN does not register voters in any way, but federal law requires all the application forms to be turned in. Yes, even the ones that ACORN management knew were fake.

Any failure in the screening process would not be the result of anything ACORN did. In fact, ACORN probably registered a lot of people who had been illegally removed from the voter rolls by politicians in places like, Ohio and New Mexico, and Florida, just to mention the ones that come to mind easily. You know, those states that got federal supervision after the 2000 election scandals.

The GOP couldn't win or buy the 2008 election, but another one is coming up in 2010.

What I find most annoying/hilarious about Kaus' argument is his assumption Coleman lost because absentee voting screening was too *stringent*. Kaus is making the exact opposite claim that Coleman's lawyers made, but that's OK as I'm sure he has a better grasp on how absentee ballots effected the election than Coleman, his lawyers, or his party does. There's no way they would have done more research than Kaus.

Given that Kaus has started buying into every stupid conspiracy theory no matter how contrary to basic logic it runs, all in the name of being contrarian, how long is it before we start seeing him asking the hard questions about birth certificates that the MSM is afraid to touch?

Absentee voting and conspiracy theory....

Deja vu? Florida, 2000? Is it time for Kaus to show us his tinfoil hat?
